Eliza Jennings Earns Deficiency-Free Ohio Department of Health Survey

(Cleveland, Ohio) – Eliza Jennings, a nationally recognized and trusted expert in aging services, announced that Eliza Jennings Health Campus on Detroit Avenue in Cleveland received a deficiency-free rating during its recent annual Quality Indicator Survey (QIS) from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), signifying full compliance with all standards of care and services required by long-term care providers. The survey evaluates skilled nursing and rehabilitative services to determine how well the nursing home provides care to its residents by meeting regulatory standards.

“Quality measurement is critically important in long-term care and rehabilitative care programs because it plays a significant role in clinical care outcomes, lower health care costs, quality of care, and quality of life,” said Eliza Jennings President and CEO Deborah Lewis Hiller. “This achievement is the result of the staff’s commitment and outstanding teamwork, and underscores Eliza Jennings’ excellent reputation for care and quality.”

The survey process focuses on how the needs of the residents are met, encompassing not only their medical and nursing needs but also their social, psychological, spiritual, nutritional, and physical needs as well. A team of ODH surveyors observes and examines clinical and operational systems as well as medical records and required documentation. Surveyors evaluate staffing levels, resident care, clinical services, employee training and observance of resident rights and resident choice. Surveyors also interview residents and their families.

Food service operations, thoroughness of housekeeping, maintenance and laundry services, and compliance with various aspects of resident and facility safety policies and practices are also inspected and evaluated.

Eliza Jennings Health Campus offers a full range of comprehensive services including 24-hour skilled nursing care with private accommodations, Alzheimer’s and memory care including SAIDO Learning™ the innovative treatment for dementia, home care, a nurse practitioner house call program, physical therapy, and specialized wound and post-surgical care.
