Joins Eliza Jennings as Executive Director of
Cleveland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitative Services Community

(Cleveland, Ohio) – Eliza Jennings, a nationally recognized and trusted expert in aging services, announced that Basabi  R. Ratnaparkhi, Ph.D., LNHA, has joined the organization’s operations team as executive director of its Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitative Services community on the organization’s Health Campus on Cleveland’s West Side.

Dr. Ratnaparkhi is a gerontologist and licensed nursing home administrator and has worked in eldercare and long-term care for 27 years. “Basabi is an accomplished public speaker and educator in the field of aging and Alzheimer’s/dementia care management,” said Eliza Jennings President and CEO Deborah Lewis Hiller. “Her passion for advocacy on behalf of older adults and leadership experience will support the continued expansion of innovative services for which Eliza Jennings is recognized.”

Dr. Ratnaparkhi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Calcutta, Calcutta, India; a Master of Arts degree in History and South Asian studies from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada; a Master of Education degree in Foundations of Education/Multicultural Education from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada; and holds a doctorate degree in Education & Gerontology from the University of Connecticut.

She is on the Board of the Lorain County Volunteer Guardianship Program, a program of the Elder Pillar of the Lutheran Metro Ministry, and has facilitated a support group for caregivers for the Cleveland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in her hometown of Amherst for 23 years. Dr. Ratnaparkhi received a 2009 Woman of Compassion Award from the Community Foundation of Lorain County and Lorain County Community College.
